AUSTRALIAN TOURISM DELEGATION TO CHINA

6/10/2017

2017 is the China-Australia Year of Tourism. As part of this program, Austrade organised a delegation of tourism professionals to attend a series of events and meetings in China, with the express purpose of exploring opportunities for business opportunities.

David Huxtable from LookEar attended this remarkable tour which included the incredible Chang’an Impression Tang Dynasty Grand Welcoming Ceremony in the ancient city of Xi'an, attendance at the Sichuan International Tourism Expo and a visit to the scenic Emai Mountain.

Several business matching sessions and a host of meetings with various Chinese organisations highlighted the immense potential for innovative heritage interpretation in China, which we are following up..

However language can sometimes be a barrier, so any English/ Chinese speakers who may be interested in becoming involved, please contact us.

INDONESIA AUSTRALIA BUSINESS WEEK 2017

LookEar's David Huxtable recently attended the IABW 2017, hosted and organised by Austrade. Over 120 delegates from Australian businesses attended the plenary sessions in Jakarta which were addressed by leading government and business people.

The Tourism Destination Development program then took a 3 day tour to Lombok and Bali to see some of the proposed and existing tourist developments. Environmental sustainablity, strategic tourism planning, local community training and engagement, and an increased focus on cultural tourism were some of the many aspects covered.

A really interesting trip with huge potential for Australian expertise involvement and support.
