Established in the 1860s, this small brewery grew to become the centre of the vast Carlton and United Breweries empire that made Carlton a household name throughout Australia.

In 1987 after some 120 years of beer making, the brewery was closed and the site has now been developed for apartments and retail.
As part of this development, LookEar was commissioned to design and create a display to present the history of the site, and its significance to both the local area and greater Melbourne.
The display features large and vibrant backlit images featuring historic photographs and some of the beautiful advertising imagery from past eras.
